Our journey began with a dream — first as a collective effort to secure land for Hameed Al Husseinie College, Sri Lanka and then as a broader vision to serve humanity. What started as a bold challenge in 2017 grew into a movement that, by 2019, took shape as Light for Life (GTE) Ltd., an incorporated charity committed to transforming lives through education, poverty alleviation and humanitarian relief.
From the very beginning, our mission has been clear: to confront poverty with opportunity, to replace despair with dignity and to unlock brighter futures through the power of education and compassion. In just a few years, we have stood by communities during pandemics and floods, built and renovated schools, supported vocational training including scholarships for higher education and even extended solidarity beyond Sri Lanka’s borders in times of crisis.
But the work is far from complete. Across our society, countless children are still denied access to quality education, families continue to struggle under the weight of poverty and vulnerable communities remain at risk when disasters strike. This is the pressing need of our time and it is why Light for Life exists.
I firmly believe that charity through the right channels is not charity at all — it is AN INVESTMENT. It is an investment in human potential, in stronger communities and in a better tomorrow. When you contribute to Light for Life, you help us ensure that every rupee, every hour and every act of kindness translates into real change — be it a classroom equipped, a student empowered or a family stabilized.
