The New Multipurpose Building Project

Official Commencement: 6th September 2025 In 2017, Hameed Al Husseinie College marked a historic milestone when it successfully acquired 80 perches of land — a bold and visionary step that set the stage for future growth. Now, that vision is becoming a reality. On 6th September 2025, the College, together with Light for Life (GTE) Ltd., will officially launch the construction of its long-awaited 7-storey multipurpose building. The new building is far more than a school facility. It is a launchpad for dreams, a hub of creativity and a sanctuary for holistic growth. Designed with foresight, it will empower every student to achieve their full potential academically, physically and emotionally. Its state-of-the-art classrooms and creativity rooms will nurture curiosity, innovation and resilience, while its natural airflow, greenery and relaxation spaces will provide a vibrant, university-like atmosphere. As a fully solar-powered and energy-efficient facility, the new building will also stand as a beacon of sustainability and environmental responsibility.
This landmark project is carefully designed to address the pressing challenges that have burdened the College for more than a decade. For years, the shortage of classrooms and lack of facilities have prevented the school from expanding admissions, introducing English Medium classes  or launching new Advanced Level academic streams. With the new building, these barriers will finally be removed. More Grade 1 students will be admitted each year, English Medium instruction will become a reality and Maths and Technology streams at Advanced Level will prepare students for modern careers. Inclusivity will also be strengthened, as the building will offer accessible classrooms and lifts to serve students with disabilities. Beyond academics, the building will provide a modern auditorium for school events and community gatherings, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, a futsal court, boxing and karate training areas, and a fully equipped gymnasium, ensuring that students receive opportunities for physical fitness and extracurricular development within their own school environment. The significance of the new building extends far beyond infrastructure. It represents the transformation of education into a holistic experience that shapes confident, healthy and socially responsible individuals. By combining learning spaces, sports arenas and creativity hubs under one roof, the project will inspire students to explore, experiment and excel. It will also open its doors to the wider community, fostering engagement, collaboration and lifelong learning opportunities. The long-term impact of this project will be profound. Generations of students will benefit from a modern, future-ready institution that not only strengthens their academic foundation but also nurtures their physical, mental and creative growth. The College will emerge as a model of sustainability and innovation, while the community at large will gain shared spaces for development and interaction. Above all, the new building will inspire a generation prepared to face the challenges of the 21st century and contribute meaningfully to society.
