The journey of Light for Life is rooted in faith unity and vision. When the idea of acquiring land for Hameed Al Husseinie College was first raised, many thought it an impossible dream. Together with my fellow Director, Mr. Mohamed Faizal, we took this challenge forward —engaging well-wishers, donors and community leaders to rally behind the cause. After months of determination, dialogue and unwavering community support, that dream became reality. The successful land acquisition was not only a victory for the College but also a turning point for the entire community, reclaiming hope for generations to come.
What followed was equally significant. While it took nearly a year to formally establish Light for Life (GTE) Ltd., our commitment to social service did not pause. We continued to support schools, build facilities, provide relief during crises and extend opportunities to families in need across Colombo. By the time Light for Life was incorporated, we had already proven that collective compassion, when channeled with purpose, could make lasting impact.
Today, we stand ready for our most ambitious endeavor yet: the construction of a new, state-of-the-art multipurpose building at Hameed Al Husseinie College, Colombo 12. Designed with modern classrooms, an auditorium, creativity hubs, sports facilities and powered by renewable solar energy, this building will not only eradicate the pressing challenges of space and resources but will also empower students to learn, create and thrive in an environment that nurtures their holistic development.
This is not just a structure of concrete and steel, but it is a light of hope, a legacy of what visionary education can achieve and a gift to thousands of students and families who will benefit for decades to come.
